Our Projects
Our projects are aimed at restoring natural ecosystems and preserving biodiversity. We combine scientific knowledge, practical work, and volunteer energy to return nature its strength and beauty.
Each of our initiatives has its own purpose — from protecting rare species to ecological education and the creation of protected areas.
All projects form a unified system of actions that helps safeguard the environment and inspires communities to adopt a responsible attitude toward nature.
The Ecosystem Restoration Center initiated the creation of a protected area to preserve a rare species of orchid.
In the village of Zozulyntsi, on Zarichna Street, there is now a special place called “Orchids on Zarichna.”
Several years ago, we accidentally came across a rare flower here — Dactylorhiza incarnata. A true orchid! It looked fragile and solitary among the grass, but we understood: if nothing was done, this species could disappear completely. Therefore, our organization’s team took action — fenced off the territory, installed information signs, and officially established a protected site.
Today this place looks completely different. Schoolchildren, journalists, and tourists visit regularly — everyone wants to see the rare orchid bloom. We conduct excursions and tell stories about how a small flower became the reason for a great endeavor. “Orchids on Zarichna” have turned into a living testimony that nature can be saved if we act together and in time.
Every child in the community planted a tree: in a single day, more than 2,000 trees were planted!
In the autumn of 2024, our community took a step that will matter not only today but also decades into the future.
More than two thousand oaks, grown and freely provided by our organization, were planted by children in ten localities.
These are not just trees — they are future forests that will purify the air, retain moisture, and give life to hundreds of species. Each sapling is a small contribution to the great healing of the environment, to the restoration of balance between humanity and nature.
Most importantly, it was the children who became the main participants in this initiative. They not only planted oaks but also laid the foundation for their own future. These trees will grow alongside them, reminding that caring for nature means caring for oneself. The involvement of the younger generation turned the initiative into a lesson of responsibility and hope, showing that saving tomorrow can begin today.
These oaks will grow together with our children, reminding them of the power of small steps that change the world.
Designed and created: the “Nadiya” Square on the site of a vacant lot
in the village of Zozulytsi.
Just two years ago, in the center of our village there was a vacant lot where chickens or cows occasionally grazed. But we decided to give it new life — we designed a square that is gradually turning into the green heart of the community.
Today this place is already hard to recognize: thanks to our project and the active participation of schoolchildren, cultural center staff, and local activists, a small square has appeared here.
Together we planted ornamental flowering shrubs, which are already preparing to delight visitors with fragrance and colors.
Wild trees planted around create a sense of comfort and protection, as if embracing the decorative part of the park. All the saplings were lovingly grown by our organization and handed over to the community free of charge.
Now this place has become a symbol of how collective work and care for nature can transform an ordinary vacant lot into a space of beauty and rest.
Where once there was a vacant lot, there is now the “Nadiya” Square, which from now on reminds us every day: even a small place can become a great symbol of care for nature.
Photo Contest “A Glimpse into Nature” Held
Our organization conducted the photo contest “A Glimpse into Nature”, the purpose of which was to showcase the fragile beauty of the surrounding world. What might have seemed a simple event — a photography contest — turned into a genuine impulse for the community. Dozens and even hundreds of people took part, setting aside their daily routines for a moment to look more attentively at the world around them.
The result proved unexpectedly profound: many participants joyfully discovered artistic abilities within themselves, and their works became evidence that nature can inspire everyone. “A Glimpse into Nature” demonstrated that it is enough to pause and look around — and we will see a world that deserves love and protection.
Designed and implemented: the first stage of planting a large-scale park in the village of Samhorodok.
Our organization has always seen its main mission as increasing green plantings. Therefore, when the local administration gave us the opportunity to focus on the territory near the hospital in the village of Samhorodok, we perceived it as a chance to revive land that had long remained barren. In the past, attempts were repeatedly made to plant trees here, but harsh conditions prevailed each time. We decided to approach it differently — we created a special park project in which every stage of planting was thought through in detail. Fast-growing and stress-resistant plants are to become the first protectors, creating a microclimate for future plantings.
In addition to a regular park zone, this territory will also receive a forest based on the Miyawaki method — a dense, living mass that begins with small saplings but quickly transforms into a true green wall.
The first stage was carried out in the autumn of 2025: more than one hundred people — schoolchildren, activists, hospital staff, and our team — joined together in planting. It was not just work, but a day when a vacant lot was transformed into a place of hope. We laid the foundation for a space that will become a symbol of the fact that even the most difficult areas can come to life if we act together and with love for nature.
More than 100 hours of lectures and seminars delivered.
We have always considered children to be our primary audience. After all, they are still capable of changing their worldview; they have the chance to correct humanity’s accumulated mistakes and prevent the most catastrophic scenarios of the future. We are convinced: if we speak to children honestly and openly, they can grow into a generation that will not repeat the errors of the past.
That is why we strive to tell them as much as possible about everything related to the environment: about climate change and human impact on nature, about the consequences of everyday actions, about the fragility and interconnectedness of ecosystems, about the disappearance of forests and the need for their restoration, about the value of water and the tragedy of plastic pollution, about clean energy, and about how humanity in the past has already endured difficult periods due to improper attitudes toward the environment. We show that archaeological and paleontological data testify: entire civilizations perished by exhausting their resources. And it is children who have the chance to change this story — to make it a story of salvation, not decline.
Scientific and ecological project “FILTER” underway for the purification of drinking water and the restoration of riparian ecosystems.
The “Filter” project is aimed at purifying the drinking water horizon from diffuse pollution caused by pesticide residues entering the water from agricultural fields. We chose a natural solution — planting willows (Salix) along the channels of small rivers that supply our settlements. Thanks to the biofiltration properties of these trees, we expect not only an improvement in the quality of drinking water but also the restoration of riparian ecosystems, the return of vegetation and wildlife, and the creation of a new living environment.
The project has particular value in educational and strategic dimensions. Schoolchildren are actively involved in the plantings, learning responsibility for their own future, while the willow itself becomes not only a natural filter but also a renewable source of energy. “Filter” is being implemented within the framework of the UN program “Decade on Ecosystem Restoration” with the support of the Institute of Hydrobiology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the State Forestry Academy, making it part of the global movement for the restoration of the planet.
Combating illegal dumpsites and carrying out remediation measures on their sites.
One of the important directions of our work has become the fight against illegal dumpsites. We help organize clean‑ups and proper disposal of waste that has accumulated for years in unsuitable places. After all, each such dumpsite is a hidden threat to soils, water, and human health.
But our activity is not limited to waste removal alone. We develop projects for the restoration and remediation of territories where waste once lay, returning them to their natural appearance and ecological value. Special attention is paid to toxic waste, which people often discard thoughtlessly. For us, this is not merely a fight against dirt — it is a fight for a clean future, where the land can once again breathe and give life.
We develop and implement nature‑friendly agricultural methods, applying permaculture and alley‑cropping techniques, and conducting an educational campaign.
Agriculture is one of the main ways in which humans interact with nature, and it is here that the extent of our impact on the environment is most clearly visible. The planet’s growing population requires an ever‑increasing amount of food, but this goal can be achieved without destroying the primary resource — the soil. We are convinced that the path to a sustainable future lies not in striving to “dominate” nature, but in cooperating with it, and at times even in imitating its own mechanisms.
That is why we constantly speak about approaches to nature‑friendly farming, carry out a broad educational campaign, and demonstrate in practice methods that allow food to be grown without exhausting the land. This includes agroforestry, organic technologies, and the use of natural cycles to preserve fertility. We seek to show that agriculture can be not only production, but also a partnership with nature — a partnership that provides people with food and gives the environment a chance for renewal.
